14th Annual Giving Hunger The Blues

Event History:
In Sarasota County, one of the most affluent communities in Florida, one out of ten of our neighbors combat hunger every day…of those, 33% are children.

In 1996, fueled by a desire to make a difference "Giving Hunger The Blues" was born. It's mandate … to provide those less fortunate with the most basic of needs … food. An all-day event, featuring local musicians, restaurants, children's games and family entertainment, "Giving Hunger The Blues" has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, attracting in excess of 5000 people committed to fighting hunger and protecting our children.

Since its inception in 1996, this event has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the All Faith's Food Bank's major fund raisers (over $600,000 has been raised by this one day event).

Help us stem the tide of hunger in our county.

Our primary objective is to feed and protect the children of this community. All the money raised stays within the county and no administrative fees are incurred through this volunteer driven event.

To feed our children, we will continue to partner with Sarasota All Faith’s Food Bank. Giving Hunger the Blues support of this charity has provided over 150,000 meals since our inception!

To nurture our children, we’ve partnered with The Wellness Community of Southwest Florida, an international organization that serves adults and children with cancer, their families/caregivers with support, education and hope.

To protect our children, we’ve chosen PAL Sailor Circus. PAL is dedicated to the development of programs that provide a safe environment for kids to participate, learn, and achieve.
